Getting ready to change the four driver side plugs on my '98 2.5L. Have decided to remove the upper intake for easier access, despite all advice/suggestions otherwise that it can be done without removing the upper intake (also called the "upper plenum"). Not that I dispute it can be done (with the upper intake in place) with the patience and the proper tools, etc., it's just that I'd rather remove it and have it out of the way instead of fumbling around with it in my way. My question is about these two obstacles: the gas line as shown here where I'm pointing http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/sgull1/IMG_2069_zps43dc3d1b.jpg and the throttle bracket/linkage http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/sgull1/IMG_2071_zps1ce8a748.jpg
In regard to the gas line, it looks as if I wanted to completely remove the upper intake I'd need to disconnect the line, and I'd kind of like to avoid having to do that. So could I probably manage just to loosen the upper intake maybe lift it a little and pull it back (enough out of the way to make room to get to the plugs as I described), with the gas line there still remaining connected? The metal line I'm pointing to doesn't look like it's gonna give any, it seems rigidly attached where it is there. Otherwise if it is necessary to disconnect the line, I would need a little advice about doing that too, in regard to releasing fuel pressure or whatever might need to be taken into consideration before disconnecting that line there.
In regard to that throttle cable and linkage/bracket, because its also attached to the intake (plenum) part I'm wanting to remove, I see that I can unbolt the bracket, but the cable will still be there and I'm unsure how to go about loosening or disconnecting that.
Thanks. (I see in my post here that you might need to hover your mouse pointer over the links to get them to be actively seen)
