Is it possible to upgrade an old 89 RABS to the later 4 Wheel ABS?
I would love the added braking quality/safety, but I fear the newer abs controllers may in fact be tied into the OBDII system.
I'm interested in upgrading the front discs to the dual piston calipers from a 95 (as well as a rear end swap at some point), so I could have all the abs wheel sensor mounting points installed at some point.
Thanks for the input!

do you have a 35 ?

There are several layers of complexity.

But a system from a say ... 93 bronco is stand alone. You will need to do a late model d35 knuckles d swap with 4wabs or a abs d44 knuckle swap.

The explorer ttb and later ranger ttb 4wabs are bolt In stand alone as well. Provided your truck has the rear tone already ..

I believe my ranger has the Dana 28 front.
I didn't see that this influenced the knuckle swap, but good to know now!
At this point, the rear end is stock too, so I'm just doing my homework before buying anything.

I use them for burnouts....drifting and 4 wheeling...in place of a front locker.

But never for abs brakes 🤣....
