I currently own an 87 Ranger XLT....what confuses me is it has factory emblems on both sides with a "Hot 1" design. I'm currently about to set off repainting the body, as it had these really cheesy white stripes on it that apparently came with it brand new, with the emblems. ...So my question is do you guys know of any "Hot 1" Models? or was this just some crappy dealership gimmick?

What is Hot 1? Never heard of it. Pics?

I tried looking it up to no avail. I think I would take several pictures to document it just in case. Maybe a few with tape measurements marked. Then sand away.

or was this just some crappy dealership gimmick?

I think it would be that at best. Got any pics? It really sounds like someone was playing with a J.C.Whitney mag back in the 80s. The stripes could be factory, they had some pretty cheesy factory graphics back in the day.

This is just stupid add ons by an idiot who owned it before. There is no such thing in Ranger history, Bro.

Yeah, sounds like someone got a little happy with the stickers. Maybe had an over-inflated opinion of themself.

Yea, i was thinking that too...just all the more reason to redo the body like ive begun doing, needs some TLC and plenty of Bondo...here are some pics, the part that confuses me is the stripes are factory and it looks like they've been worked around the emblem, as with the Ranger emblem

Definitely not factory...previous owner musta thought he was a ladies' man??

It looks to be like what dealers do here, add there own emblem to the vehicles they sell on the lot. I see the "Texas edition" and "Oklahoma edition" on a lot of trucks. Doesn't mean anything special.

yea, im in Woodland Park Colorado and this truck was purchased just in the neighboring city of Colorado Springs brand new from the dealer...thanks for the help!

Maybe that was less gay in 1987.

For some reason that reminded me of bowling. I don't know why.
