While replacing a small hose that blew out in the cooling system (heater hose related I guess) another part was damaged. The hose is easy enough to find but nobody I have brought it to seems to know what the plastic piece is circled in red.

The hose is circled in orange.

The unidentified part is circled in red. This part has an arrow that points away from the hose that blew out that I was replacing.

While replacing it the nipple the hose connects to broke.

Anyone have any ideas?

I thought maybe some sort of check valve, but the center of that plastic piece is completely open. It clearly seems to be more than a simple coupler between hoses.

If it is just a coupler I am sure I can find something.

Thanks in advance.

it would be getting a prestone barb for now if it were me.

Thanks Ron.

Angle adapter, hmm, now I feel really dumb, like how obvious!!! I should have known because like the part connects strait thru!!

Does it do anything other than couple the two hoses together? Like the thing has a patent number on it so it must do something ingenious.

are the id of the hose the same?....one may be 15mm and the other 18mm or some silliness along those lines

Yes, the hose ID's looks different, like the engineering dept. for the intake fitting size and the heater hose size didn't match, lol, oops

Thanks Ron.

Is it a push fit to allow for easy assembly... And of no use to anybody having to replace the gimcrack later on:D

I just found a strait thru coupler and put it in. Hose IDs on both sides seemed to be same tightness on the coupler.

*shrug* unless part had some other magic I think I am done.

Thanks
