Last week I was driving the Ranger and it drove ok. When I stopped and got out, the (outside) brake lights were still on, but went off a couple of seconds later. Two days later, driving it again, the ABS light came on, (and would sometimes come on and go off, other times stay on), and since that time, the brake lights stay on.
I checked the brake section to see if I could find the ABS tester location listed (and hopefully codes), as well as hoping there was a diagram which showed where the two meet (sure the master cylinder which is full and the brakes feel fine, not sure where else).
94 Ranger, and I don't see speed sensors at both wheels like I am used to seeing on front of other cars (that have four wheel ABS). From what I have read so far, the sensor should be in the differential. (will check when I have light, not going to try to find stuff in the dark and mud, if I don't have to, aka might miss something). Does the brake light switch, connect into that somehow?
Thanks.
