Tuner Question

Mine's the Xcal2. It should say somewhere in the menu whether it is locked or not. And keep it indoors until you are ready to plug it in. Mine has always given me fits if it gets cold.

Never said it was locked, so I guess it ain't....I was gonna contact tech support on it, while I'm at it I'll get a custom tune emailed to me so I can upload it in there....

I suggest finding someone that does custom ones since every motor is different, they will fine tune the tune instead of a one size fits all.

If you contact tech support and tell them what you have and what you've done performance wise, and what you want out of the tune, they will email you a customized tune with the upgrades you have done and the best tune to work with those changes, then all you have to do is upload from your computer to the tuner, then to your vehicle...I found that out today while looking for answers to my dilema...
SVT

Yeah but a good tuner, will then make you log a run and email it back and make changes to it.

It has the capabilities to do that, I guess it all depends on how much time you want to spend on it...I'm not looking for every half a HP I can get out the motor/tune, just want my ECU to accept the upgrades I do to it so it doesn't feel like a redheaded step child...Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that... :D

Since its n/a it wont be that bad. The first time I tuned my car it took a couple weeks, but I was working a lot and he was busy. The last time we took a whole day to do it and it took under 8 hours of emailing tunes and logs back and forth.

I'm thinking of fabbing a lower intake for the 5.0L to accept the roots type blower ( like an M-90, only Edelbrock's E-force design) so I can bolt one of those on instead of using a centrifugal style supercharger...

I have been tossing around the idea for my 4.0 also. Mine will be harder to get the a/f right since I cant tune it though. There is a centrifugal sc in the classifieds that fits a 4.0 for cheap.

I'm really glad we took over this thread.
