Tuff Country radius arms

Don't buy those. I guarantee you can buy something better for much less.

Never even heard of anybody with a ranger running them.

They look cheesy as hell.

Save up a lil more and get JD or SJ arms. They WILL be worth the extra cash.

lots of people run them...the guys that use them weld and plate them in...hard to tell what they are after that. ones up here are always rotted out.

I don't like the bushing mount that they use

Those aren't even Ranger arms in their pic on that page, they look like F-150 arms & brackets.

IIRC Tuff Country's Ranger arms weren't made a whole lot different though. I can only remember one person on here having had them, and it was awhile ago (don't remember who it was). I can't recall any issues he may have had.
SJ or JD arms are definitely way ahead of TC arms though. However if you want cheap, make your own from your stock arms using a length of 2" DOM tube. Probably cost you around $100 when all is said & done.

I would love to make my own but I don't have access to a welder close by. Plus I probably would trust my welds anyway.

Save up adn go for JD arms. They should be th eonly choice. I have used SJ arms for about 12 years and now have J Don my truck and I will say the JD arms over shadow the SJ arms by a long shot.

I am in the same boat as you. i sure wish i had some tools to fab steel.

Elaborate :D

Cuz I am a Skyjacker fan, and I'd like to hear your reasoning.

If I ever own another Ranger I may go with JD arms just for sake of change (and their blue is a sick color), but I think they will be of the wedgie EB D44 variety.

I have a pair of their coil buckets and I love 'em...

Well over all the JD arms are alot stronger build. They weight alot more then the Skyjacker arms do. I have had a SJ Class 2 under my truck for 12+years. I just swapped in JD stuff and over all I would say the JD stuff is beefier over all. I am sorry I failed to throw the JD arm on a scale before installing it but I do have side by side pics of the 2 arms. Also the JD arm seems to run inside the edge of the frame rail right up until it curves to connect to the Traction Beam. I really like the dual shock mount on the front end as well. With the JD stuff and a Dropped Pitman Arm my steering linkage is setting pretty damn close to the stock set up versus the amount of drop I had with the Sky Jacker. So far I have noticed a reduction in bump steer from that alone versus my skyjacker.

Do not take what I am saying the wrong way I am not against Sky Jacker in any way my kit served me very well for 12+ years. I never had any breakage issues with it.

The JD system also runs a variable rate spring which should improve the on raod manners of my truck over the Sky Jacker.

All in all both seem to be very high quality kits I am just liking the the JD over all more then the Skyjacker that has served me so well for so long and the added wow factor is the Kick Ass Ford Blue they chose to put on the parts.

those look similar to the ranger arms i have seen, though earlier ones i remember having a reg arm bushing....maybe it was an eye.

the 150 arms had some plate in them already from what i remember.

i do agree the jd arms, earlier and later are a stouter build then the regular shelf competitors...but i also bent up the early style units i used regularly too...and made many repairs to the drivers side due to torque loading from overpowering them with the ttb application.

the product they produce today is even better in overall quality and material, not cheap from what i have seen.

i disliked the original owners due to shipping and parts replacement issues, but the new guys really seem like they enjoy the craft and are putting out products worthy of support.

they are for a ttb for sure but the pivot brackets dont look like full size.

I have the cage arms on my full size wich are the same thing and love them...

I was aiming to get their coil buckets or the ones from ballistic fab. What I did like from JD was their lower coil cups :icon_thumby:
I will say if their ttb arms are as beefy as these they are hard to beat. Another good lift that I have heard lots of good about is made by BDS. I have had several diferant makes and I would say that one that is custom is usualy the best. It is made to do a job and do it well, usually not mall crawl like the majority of these 5$ lifts are for.
