With that clutch off, the pulley can come off the compressor while going down the road. I would just unhook the coil for the clutch so that it does not engage

no it won't if i remember right there is a snap ring to retain pully..

could be wrong though my memory isn't what it used to be, so please verify before just leaving clutch off...

Don't run it with the clutch off.

Demon you are correct. I was thinking that the snap ring held the bearing to the pulley. It holds it to the shaft and the bearing is pressed into the pulley. The pulley will not come off due to how it is pressed onto the bearing, as it must come off the compressor with the bearing first.

Ok so I jus put it back on in the dark only takes a second noise came back I pulled all fuses an relays for ac didn't help ... I'll have to take a look in the morning see if pully will come off without clutch on I don't have money right now to put into it an my other vehicle a 08 escape the shock mount went right up thru rear wheel well so this is my only ride at the moment

Page 2 has a reply about bypassing your ac with a belt. (cheap)

Page 3 has ADSM08 saying 'don't run it with the clutch off.'

Page 3 also contains your last post.

Please just bypass it via the belt method. 4.0? Yep...shorter belt'll fix you right the **** up. Just ask for a belt for your truck without ac, and pull that compressor straight the hell off. Cut the lines, cause the planet is crying, anyway. lol. ;)

Wtf did you hit in an '08 Escape that you shoved a shock though the floorboard?

Crossovers...4wd not made for offroading.

Ok thanks jeremysdad that worked its all good now till next summer an the 08 escape didn't hit nothing it's my wife's after some research I found out it's a common issue with 05 to 08 escapes

Did the mount go, or did the bushing go. Those older bushings were garbage.

Mount went right up thru the wheel well
