I have a 95 B 3000, 3.0, 5 speed 4x4,shift on the dash. I just replaced the slave cylinder for the clutch. The transmisson fluid that i drained from it at the start of this job was about 5quarts of some fairly thick stuff. I don't have a service manual, but the book i have says 2.8quarts of mercron to fill. Almost half the amount i took out. So my problem is it sounds like a wind up car. Higher in pitch and i am not sure if it is wrong or was wrong. Please and thank you. Nancy lee

2.8 quarts of Mercon ATF is correct. If farily thick stuff came out, chances are someone put gear oil in it, which probably messed up the trans and is the cause of the whining.

Thanks. That's what I was trying to pretend wasn't going on. One could always hope. Thanks again. Nancy lee
