Which shift kit is easier to install, which involves the least amount of drilling?
I've got a drill press but it's not very good.
Which kit is most effective?
'03 XL, 2.3 Duratech, 5R44E trans.

i have had both and have installed both and i think the superior is a more complete kit and more customisable kit. if I'm on it and the conditions are right and i shift from 1st to second it will chirp =]

I love my TransGo kit. I know with my A4LD I only had to drill one hole, and it was with a hand drill as it was on an angle through one of the channels in the valve body. The rest was stiffer springs in the valves and an updated servo spring.

i didnt kno the jr. kit came with cluch springs :icon_thumby: :edit: opps u didnt say cluch springs

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with the idea of drilling the actual VB itself. How precise does the the angle have to be?

it doesn't have to be at all its just a simple .125 hole iirc if u don't like drilling than neither is a good choice the jr. kit requires you to drill more into the separator plate than the superior one does

I'm not worried about drilling the separator, hell, they're cheap.
I don't want to screw up the VB and have to buy a new one.
I guess the Superior kit comes with some steel that I'd only need if I was tearing the tranny down, so I'll probably go with the Transgo, drill or no drill.
