94 4x4 Ranger w/ M50D-R1 and 13-54 electric T-case.

Got all 5 bolts out and broke the seal by carefully prying at the bottom of the case. Been rocking the cr*p out of it and it just sits there hanging onto the tail end of the tranny.

What's the trick for getting this thing to let go? Reply real loud - I'll be out back under the truck til it's dark...

Hmmm. i have a 97. Pretty much the same exact setup. and my transfer case just came right apart. make sure you have all the bolts out, and there is a dowel on the side closest to the Cats that you may need to pry at. the one bolt on the bottom should come out, but not actually pull all the way out because i think the mount is in the way..

Four bolts in hand, and the bottom one free of the threads but blocked in by the mount. T-case seems to be hanging up on the passenger side up above. I think I spent about an hour underneath it wrestling it like a gator and I swear it hasn't budged an inch. I'm gettin ready to beat the cr*p out of it with a RBFH...

Hmmmm... dowel is passenger side? Up near the top? Maybe that's what's hung up...

Can you get a pry bar between them? Sounds like its stuck on the dowel pin.

That IS right about where the dowel is. I pounded a screwdriver between the surfaces all around there (try not to get it too deep and damage the surfaces), eventually it made a bit of a gap and came off.

I'm out from under and all cleaned up for the night. Tomorrow I'll pry and work a bunch of screwdrivers in around the gasket and see if I can get it to pop.

Thanks for all the feedback.

i cant think of anything that could be holding it besides maybe its frozen up on the trans output shaft.. theres really nothing there besides that bolts and the guide dowel

You did remove the T-Case shift linkage, right? I ran into something similar on the '94 explorer I bought for parts. Someone before me had the T-Case off and lost the gasket so they replaced it with a HUGE bead of silicone sealant.

Yeah, real fun. Remind me to thank that guy...Good luck!

its an electric case, there isnt any linkage. Yeah just play with it more, it will pop.

Yeah, no linkage - kinda wish I had a manual, but we'll save that for another time...

Heading back under the truck now...

Seriously?
