I just bought a 1986 Ranger XL 2.9L, 2wd 5 speed(the perfect compliment to my '86 BII!!). I am going to have to fix the transmission soon. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears are noisy. I would like to replace with a used transmission.

Will a 5 speed (M5oD) out of a 3.0L bolt up to the 2.9L?
