I want to tow a 2000 4x4 Ranger with a manual trans on my dolly behind a Class C 27’ motorhome. How do I configure transfer case and trans?

Ford says that Rangers with manual transmission, 2WD, or 4WD in 2WD mode, can be flat towed upto 55MPH, not sure that speed would be accurate since transmission and transfer case are being lubed at any speed, so I think its more of a Safety thing, i.e. Ford Don't want to get sued, lol

So its fine

Automatics can't be towed because they are lubed by their front pump which is only working when engine is running
Ford did have software they could add to electric shift 4x4s so the transfer case could be shifted to Neutral, but its been discontinued, this was mainly for 4WD automatics but could be used on manuals as well

Hubs if equipped need to be in free. Transfer case in neutral, and transmission in neutral if I recall. Being a 2000's model you probably have the electric shift transfer case and auto-hubs or live axle....so make sure the transfer case is in 2WD and transmission in neutral and you should be good to go.

Hook it up to your RV, and drive forward a few feet, get out and make sure you are towing not dragging the Ranger by checking for tire skid marks LOL.
