My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
I know I have seen torque specs somewhere on this site for steering and suspension, but I can't find them anywhere.
Am I mistaken? I found engine torques, but I can't seem to find the others.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Not sure of the suspension stuff, I just tighten them to German torque specs: Gudentite.

Steering:

Pitman Arm Nut (holds pitman arm to the steering box): 220ft lbs that is a hella lot of torque, my torque wrench only went to 150, so I tightened it to that, and when I had it aligned I had the shop finish torqueing it properly

all of the linkage castle nuts on the steering (left, right and center linkage connections) are 56 ft Lbs. There should be 4 total.

13mm bolt that secures the input shaft to the steering gear is 35 ft lbs.

three bolts that hold the steering gear to the frame 60 ft lbs

All of this was found on the interwebs three and a half years ago when I did a complete steering overhaul. someday I will publish a How to on this :)

oh, and this is for a 97, but the specs are probably good for anything from 83 to 97.

Good luck and have fun :)
