Picked up this home made oxy-acet. dolly for $20.00. There was this old scrap post drill bolted to the dolly. I can't wait to get rid of the drill press so I can see what kind of score I got on the dolly....

Very cool find. Absolutely love old tools.

wood pulley on the press, 5 lug wheels on the cart. interesting combination. :icon_thumby:

The press is originally hand cranked. It has some gearing that advanced the drill bit down as you turn the crank. Someone added the wooden pulley and an old 3/4 hp electrical motor and v-belt with a household light switch as an on/off. The main bushings seem to be good but one side gear bushing is worn. The wood pulley easily detaches. I haven't taken a close look yet, it's out at my storage for now.
