on my 90 ranger somebody before i got the truck heated up the coil springs to lower the front and there all bent out of shape could this be why my wheels are toed out cause they wear purdy bad, or could it be tie rods and ball joints

You nailed it. Lowering an I beam suspension takes a bit more work than just springs. You definitely need to change the springs. Those heated ones are dangerous. If you want it lowered, you will have to get lowering springs. Maybe someone else can chime in. I am not sure how much you can lower it and still be able to correct the alignment with adjustable camber/caster bushings. I know you will have to get lowering beams after a certain point.

I'm positive that it is 2". Then you need a drop beam for more.

If you lower it 3 inches....you'll have to replace the original camber bushings with aftermarket adjustable bushings...drop beams will give you a much smoother & better ride than lowering springs though.....(of course, you need to replace bad tie-rod ends &/or bad ball joints before getting it aligned after doing the drop)

that's what I had to do on my '89 Ranger.....
