Ok so what happened was I drove through a puddle, maybe a foot deep, and I stalled. Ok no biggy, started 'er up and kept going, but now theres a god awfull ticking sound coming from inside the bellhousing, or as far as I can tell thats where its coming from. I can feel it in the clutch pedal every time i hear it go *TICK*. Anyway is there any one that can give some insght as to what might be causing it? It still drives fine and throttle response is the same as it was before so I don't think its been hydro locked. 95 b4000 4x4 m5od-r1

Could be an exhaust leak, cold water on hot metal causes a quick contraction of the metal and it can crack

Have someone put their hand/towel over the tail pipe while you listen to sound, if it changes it's a leak, if not then ???

Is the inspection plate on?
Could something have floated, been sucked, into bell housing, while engine was off

Is it engine RPM timed or rear wheel speed timed?

It'engine timed, doesn't change wether our not the clutch is engaged or not, and the truck does drive but sounds awful

Does it tick in neutral when stopped or only when moving maybe change the oil in the tranny/transfer and look for water or shavings?

It ticks when ever the engine is running. My autoshop teacher (I'm still in highschool) figures there something hanging off the pressure plate and its hitting the inside of the bell housing. Guess I'll have to wait till I pull the tranny on Monday to know if its coming from befoer or after the clutch
