thrush welded on 3.0

it doesnt sound as good as other peoples. others sound more deep toned. any one know why?

i think he may have it on backwards and the exhaust pipe isn't long enough to give it any tone

a thrush welded wit no cats sounds real good on my v6 4.0. i know the laws are enforced in some places but wit out those cats its the good traditional sound deep and loud but not to much.

the thrush welded sounds real good on my v6 3.0

I know it sounds weird....but a muffler needs time to "break" in.

I personally have a thrush welded muffler on my 3.0 and it took a trip to wisconsin and back to get a nice deep tone and a real good sound at about 3K. It barely made a sound before that trip. It's not overly loud and doesn't resonate in the cab that much....but that's the way I like it. I'd compare the thrush welded to a flowmaster super44.

i deff. dont have it on backwords. lol. and i heard others where they dump out befor the rear wheel and they sound better. maybe i do need to break it in. i just put it on.

He's not crazy.
I'e seen brand new motorcycle mufflers get a little deeper tone once they get a little carbon in them.

why in the hell dont mine sound like that?????????????? is ir because i have it exiting befor the wheel???????

so what i should do it have it go out and above the axle and out behind the rear tire? dont they sell flexible pipe so i dont need to buy one nebt exactly for it?

and where can i buy just the tail pipe from the muffler back pre bent for a ranger? can i go to like advance and get it or auto zone?

and are you guys sure it will make it deeper and louder. i dont want to spend 50 bucks on something that i don't need.

just get a couple pieces of scrap pipe, heck even try going to a junk yard and see whats there. yes the length of your tailpipe makes a big diff, i recently put a magnaflow xl muffler on my 95 4.3 blazer, i had mine exit exactly where yours is and it sounded like crap. went out over the axle on behind the rear tire and it sounds alot better. like a v8 at idle.
