Thoughts on Buying This 2007 Ranger

lowball the shit out of him like they do on these car build tv shows...give em the old Richard Rawlings. I'd call him Dick.
I probably won't be getting that 08. I started at $3,200 and stopped at $3,750. They only came down to $4,250. They did just post it though, so they may come down more over time. After thinking about it more, I don't know if I even really want it at $3,750. It would be a heck of a lot easier to buy one without rust or with very little then risk it rusting all apart. I think I will be able to find one with little to no body rust not too far from me.

I think if you priced out the cost of repairing rust, you would be wise to simply spend the money on a rust free truck. I know you can get doors for vehicles for a few hundred dollars (used of course) but you may be just buying more problems.

The people with the 2008 said they will take $3,750. That is about $1,000 below KBB private party value. Do you think it is worth it with the rust?

Uh, did they ever get the hood to open up, so you even know what engine is in it (and can look at the fluids)?

Lol, they still have not gotten back to me about the engine. Obviously I won't go look at it till they do. I am asking this assuming it is the 4.0. If it isn't, I will forget it.

I mean, honestly, if it takes them that long to get the hood open, I really wouldn't trust them for beans.

I once went to look at a Trans Am convertible with my grandfather (about 10 years ago). I showed up at the used car dealership, and the car would not start because the battery was dead. The guy went back to the office and got a jump starter (the kind that is large and on wheels), but the jump starter was dead as well. He went back to get another jump starter, which was also dead. We did not stick around. Needless to say I had a good laugh with my grandfather on the way home. He called me back a few hours later telling me I "just had to come down to hear it run, and I would love it". I did not go back.
