thinking of painting & polishing factory Ranger wheel & photo shop request

any pics of these wheels that have been POLISHED?
I plan to remove any curb rash & paint all receased area's the same color as the truck. Subaru Rally Blue Pearl & then polish the remaining wheel area. Not sure if the painted area's should be done prior to polishing or after polish. I will be coating entire wheels after polishing with Duplicolor clear Wheel Coating. And painting center cap Silver wheel paint. I have all black powder coated lug nuts

Can any one do a photo shop of the wheel with the area's between spokes,U shaped ares on spokes & lug nut holes in Metallic blue & center cap silver with remaining wheel Polished & with black lug nuts

Another thought is to coat entire wheel with reflective clear coat then Duplicolor clear Wheel Coating.

Heres a couple of brands of reflective paint I found by google search.

Of the 3 brands I have never heard of SEYMOUR's which is the most expensive @ $16.54 for a 16oz can that contains only 12ozs of paint. Followed by KRYLON INDUSTRIAL @ $10.75 for a 16 oz. can that have a net weight of 9 oz. & last is RUST-OLEUM @ $6.49 for 16 oz. can that contains 10oz.

KRYLON:

Industrial Reflect-A-Lite:

Reflective Spray Paint Glass Sphere Tint Base,

Reflect-A-Lite Spray Paint is a Tint Base coating that directly reflects flashlight, headlights, and other direct light sources. 16 oz. cans have a net weight of 9 oz. This reflective coating uses glass sphere technology and can be applied to virtually any item without obscuring its original color.
Not recommended for use on plastic or high heat temperature surfaces.

SEYMOUR'S:

When it must be found in the dark, use Seymour's reflective coating to bring it into the light.

Reflective coatings is a water-based reflective paint that provides a tough durable finish, which has reflective components to allow the paint to reflect back to the source of light.

These coatings have excellent outdoor durability, gasoline resistance, and can withstand intermittent but not continuous immersion in water.

For maximum reflectivity, apply over the Aluminum Base Coat or over clean, bright metal.

Suggested to be used on ramps, steps, ladder rungs, railings, ceramic and fiberglass

RUST-OLEUM:

Rust-Prevention Reflective Coating Spray:
Description:

Rust Preventative Reflective Coating Spray, Solvent Base Type, Resin Type Enamel, Clear Reflective, Gloss Finish, Net Weight 10 oz., Coverage 10 to 12 sq. ft., Dry Time 1 hr., Dry Time Recoat 2 to 3 hr., Dry Time Tack Free 45 min., Application Temperature 50 to 90 Degrees F, Surface Metal, Steel, Interior/Exterior, VOC and MIR Compliant Standards

Why not try a few different combinations on something to see what you like the most

I used Dupli-Color wheel coating on mine, did the inside of the holes flat black, and of course, when I cleared over them, it turned to gloss.

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheelCoating/

I didn't polish them, but I had buffed them with a fine grade 3M pad chucked in a 1/2" hand drill, which gave more of a brushed finish.

They were spotlessly prepped, clean and dry when I sprayed them, but the finish eventually chipped off, and after 4 years they looked like crap again. Corrosion under the clearcoat where rocks had dinged the finish, and the black was coming off in the holes here and there, again, from gravel roads.

This is when I first did them:

my wheels dont have tires on them so I can take my time & do a very thorough job on them. I like the way your wheels turned out to bad they didnt stay that way.

I use clear rocker panel chip guard and wet sand with 2500 and 3000 then buff or hand rub with good polishin compound.

but high quality clear shot from a gun will do it good. i have found that you should use at least 5 to 6 coats of clear.

if you clear the inside of the wheel only use 3 light coats. be sure to smooth out the bead really, really good befor clear application. and wet sand it pretty good to keep a good seal.

you should also get a professional to remove and put on your tires. i change alot of tires and have seen beautiful wheels destroyed by dumbasses.

Thanks for showing the photoshop wheel Now I can better imagine mine in Blue metallic with the wheel being polished

If and when you do yours do a write up on it with pics if you don't mind then I might get off my butt and paint mine black like the pic...wish you success!

I checked into the clear rock guard spray , & was advised against it as it doesnt have any UV protection so over a period of time it will break down & also turn yellow.

Welcome to Nyalic®
Nyalic® is a clear polymeric plastic resin coating that protects against chemical and environmental corrosion on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, galvanized, anodized and powder coated surfaces, as well as restores oxidized painted surfaces.

You could always plastidip them.

You could always plastidip them.

This, try it out to see how it looks, if you don't like it peel it off. Sounds like your going for glossy effects though so might not apply.
