Hey Guys. I just bought a 1987 Ford Ranger as a project truck and I’m already replacing the thermostat, the temp send unit, and ignition coil. Since it seems like this project truck is slowly turning into a complete restore, I’d like to swap all the old 33 year old rusty bolts and screws for new-right-out-of-the-packaging hardware. I plan on doing an eBay sweep for Ford/Motorcraft bolts/screws/etc to have on hand for anything I do under the hood or to the body or cab so I can replace the hardware.

So far I have...

BOLTS MOSTLY FOR THE BODY
M6-1.0 Thread. 22mm Long. 8mm Hex Head. 19mm Loose Washer. Black.

BOLTS FOR MOUNTING SEATS IN CAB
5-16”-18 x 1 3/16”. 1/2” Hex Head. 7/8” Washer.

What are your guys’ thoughts? What would you have on hand if you were doing what I’m doing?

Over the years I've just made it a point to save extra OEM hardware, and to collect it during junkyard runs. I too prefer to keep the fasteners stock, and can usually replace a bad or rusted fastener from my collected "stash".

Besides looking on eBay, I don't know of a good source for OEM fasteners. I wish that I did know of a good and reasonable single source for the correct hardware, though.
