I purchased a 83 ranger at auction, got it running and driving and sent it in for inspection. Everything was going very well thanks to the fomoco underbody coating the truck had on it. I wanted to get the oil filter lines replaced due to the fact there was a couple pin holes in them. I had temporarily JB welded the leak till I could get it to the garage. The garage had to have a company custom make me new oil lines which they did a fantastic job of except for the fact that they made the line that was supposed to go to one area only fit the opposite and vise versa causing no oil to travel through the engine through the main oil filter:pissedoff: The garage to the best of my knowledge is standing tall for installing this part and causing the seizure. I the same day this happened bought another diesel ranger locally that has a good drivetrain, but is rusted out. I told the garage I purchased this, but would rather have them rebuild the one they seized. The engine was perfect too. Under 200k mi of which was all highway. I feel they need to rebuild this but because of the lack of parts does anyone know a good parts source for bearings and such becuase im going to need it?.?.?.?.

I completely misread that title. I thought you meant seized as in drug task force type thing.. LOL.

Ron has it.

The Ranger diesels were used in many many things that were not Rangers. Most of those things were forklifts.

I am pretty sure the Perkins 2.2 can still be found in Cat forklifts into the 2000s. The 4D55 2.3L diesel used in later Rangers can be found in Mitusbishi forklifts.

I rebuilt my 2.3 4d55, The main bearings i got from Ebay (Japanese mfg), and the connecting rod bearings and pins bushing (both sealed power) were purchased from rock auto. I plasti-gauged them and the clearances were great. I would buy from them again.

Regards,
Mike
