The 88's got issues


So I got around to monkeyin w/ the ranger again. I replaced the TFI, to no avail. Still has the same problem. I may have gotten pissed off at it and beaten the dead horse..

I changed the oil, and found enough metal shavings to bring a tear to the eye of any truck guy. A lot of shavings, I think there must be a metal lathe in there.

So I'm thinking I'm done with it. Was fun while it lasted, but my ranger will be sold to the first Hot Rodder who has the cash. I'll be around the forum.

Update

No one would buy it so I dug deep into the bowls of my 2.9 and found a flat cam lobe. After toying with the ideal of a motor swap, I decided to just trade in my ranger on a 94 F150 XLT Lariat Northland Edition. So the ranger has moved on. The guy at the dealership gave me $900 trade in for it so I can't really complain there. He said he was going to put in a New 2.9, so she'll live on just not with me.
