Maybe someone can help me here. I replace the coolant temp sensor that is for the gauge today and after an all day process of getting the old sensor out, I soon realized the the new sensor had a decent size difference that the one wire connects to. Has anyone ran into this issue and is there an alternative to fixing this. I thought I might be able to spread the connector open a bit to get it on the stud, I guess you could call it. I've also contemplated just cutting the end of the connector off and connecting some sort of wire connector and a nut.

I just cut off the old connector and crimped on the proper sized ring terminal. Fast with nuts, washers as needed.
