So I am trying to put a tail housing from an earlier m5od onto my 1998 4.0 m5od. (For man shift t case linkage) however the vss gear is in the way so I removed it and it's snap ring. Now there's a little nub on the tail shaft that was used like a key way or the vss gear. Should I just grind it off or leave it? It will mate now but it's a little harder to turn (making me think it'll wear that tail shaft seal out)

Never mind I can see the groove where the seal resides in is in a different location with this vss tranny. Freaking Mazda ford a holes. Haha back to the drawing board probably gonna do what racinNdrummin did on his b2.
