swapping a 98 5r55e auto transmission into a 95 ranger 5sp manual truck both engines are 4.0 ohv. i have both trucks what kind of electrical problems might arise with this swap, other than the hard parts the computer will probably have changed. I would think the wiring harness from the 5r55 is some were in the harness from computer to the trans. Don't know where to start looking. Also does the 98 5r55 have a speedometer drive gear in the ext. housing?Any help will be appreciated .Please advise & thank you

Yes you need the computer from the 98, the 98 will also have PATS security system which means you will also need the Pat's module, transceiver, ignition, and keys from the 98. Don't quote me on this but I think 98 used the rear differential abs unit for the speedometer. You may need to use the GEM unit from the 98 as well. LOTS OF WIRING will be involved. Not a very easy swap but having both complete trucks is good.
