Its a 1997 2wd ranger
I have the option to grab a 8.8 31 spline from a 2001 XLT Ranger (free)
How much drop can I figure on mounting the springs under the axle? as those perches are already there
I have used the search for about 3 hrs and I couldnt find anything but I didnt go past pg 4 in search results

Thanks guys/gals ya'll ROCK :headbang:

The diameter of the axle tubes plus the thickness of the springs.

Usually around 5" of drop.

ok thanks guys ,
I found out that free is not always free
the axle has a blown carrier and spider gears are trashed
so looking at 300-500 to put in my FREE axles into the ranger
gunna keep looking but thanks for the info guys

If you were looking at a 31 spline axle with spring mounts under the axle then I'm willing to bet that rear end came from an Explorer and not a ranger. That could be why you had a hard time finding information on it.
