Subs AND speakers behind the seat of my reg cab?

Ok, so i finally got this working today. Havent hidden the wires or anything, but will work on that tomorow. Some screws holding the carpet are stripped so i need to get them off first.

I am using 8 gauge wire for now because thats what i got witht he sub and amp. Sounds good so far, but will eventually be upgrading for sure. I found out that alpine is now making thin Type R subs that are actually a bit more powerful than the previous models, so that would be crazy in this little regular cab lol.

What i did for the ground is i found a hole in the back behind the seat where i had ripped the braces for the stock speacker boxes out. I grinded off the paint and bolted it on there. The positive i had talked to a few people about what to do and a common place where people said there was a grommet i could use was on the passenger side right where it starts to curve upwards. There was none there so i drilled my own hole there and its should work ok. But i do not know where there are any grommets in town, asked at a few stores and they said they didnt think they had them? lol Would a rubber tubing and the wires being wrapps with that and alot of electrical tape work? Have that to fill out the hole and then use some super-glue type thing to hold it in? Sounds stupid... but if it will work... lol

Thanks everyone for their help and suggestions. :) I had been looking this up online for a while since i started this thread and ended up with a good understanding of what need to be done. I just ran into problems with stuff like the power wire that needs to go thru the firewall.

you got it right. split a piece of rubber hose/tubing and wrap it around your hot wire where it goes thru the hole. then i'd use the Permatex Black Adhesive Sealant to fill in all around that tube filling the hole completely. after that, you should be good to go.
glad it's all working out for you!

Thanks. So will i need to do this sealant to the inside of the tube also (from wire to the tube)? I dont plan on running these wires forever because its only 8 gauge and i am planning on eventually getting a Type R slim sub and matching amp.

Also, another question... How would i go about hooking up 2 amps? I am going to be upgrading my speaker system and getting a amp for those also. So i would be having a 500 watt rms (around there) amp for my speakers, and a amp to match the thin alpine type R sub (600 rms/1800 peak i beleive). So would this be too much for my stock battery and alternator? What would i have to do to do this? These amps arent too big, but i dont really know anyone that has more than just their sub amp lol. Would i just hook it up like i have it now, only have 2 wires running from the battery, etc?

Bullshit, Bust out the jigsaw, thats how i put a 12" Crunch GP in the back of my single cab.

yes i have a pioneer shallow mount in a truck box behind the pass. seat with the end of the box with the sub more in the middle i have to have the seat up a lil more but it works. has anyone fit a sub under the seats in a ranger before? would be better for room..

well i just changed out my 10"s with two 12"s and they fit fine and sound great

happy for ya! pics please!!

wish i had an extended cab to get two or three 12's back there :( nope just my lowly standard cab with about 5 inches of space :\

the best way is just to measure the mount depth of the subs and just simply build a fully custom box that way you can mount any speakers and subs you want as long as your clearances are good, also if you build this u can remove the center console and add on to the box in the back so u can have a fully mod look to your ranger
