Strong gas smell and now My MPG is terrible

So I have an intermittent gas smell in my cab and rough idle in the morning, I looked it up and got a few reasons I'm leaning to the gas pressure regulator any one else have this issue?

Another suspect would be your evap system. Just like the new fangled gas cans, your gas tank is totally sealed from the outside. But hoses crack and rot, and so fumes from the tank can escaped when they are not supposed to. That is what they use those smoke machines for, to find leaks in that system.
