Stock SVT ford ranger from factory??

Hey guys, whats up. My dad gave me his '96 ranger that he bought brand new. It has an SVT badge under XLT, I was wondering if this is a package or a rare trim level? I cant seem to find any replicas anywhere. Nothing is special about the engine I dont think, Same 2.3 auto as any other ranger. I think its a package as he bought the truck with a cool blue exterior and interior that i haven't seen in any other rangers. It also came with a blue bed "tent" that folded down and up like a convertible, Would post a picture of it but it has deteriorated over the years. Let me know what yall think.

SVT models (special vehicle team) have always been fords somewhat elite high performance packages. It wasn't a trim & goody package like other ford models, lariat, splash, edge, etc. SVT is at its core strictly performance based

If it was an SVT truck it would have AT LEAST a turbo charged 2.3 in it if not a 5.0. Sorry to burst your bubble but unfortunately at some point someone simply stuck some SVT badges on the truck.

Im thinkin it was placed on from the dealer, bought it with it on.

Very possible. Dealers have been known to add all sorts of goofy add-ons that weren't from the factory. The tent is definitely interesting.

SVT never built a Ranger that was sold to the masses. A couple one off prototypes that were probably crushed is about it.
