I'm in the process of pulling my cab off the frame and am trying to get the steering shaft off. I have the bolt out that connects the column to the lower shaft, but it's not coming apart. I've shot PB blaster at everything I can get at, still nothing. Any thoughts on how to get them apart?

How are you pulling the cab? It will come apart if you're using any kind of mechanical means to pull it. Or unbolt the column and yank the hell out of it.

I've been yanking up to this point, but didn't want to do anything more as I didn't know if that'd damage the steering box. Guess I'll keep yanking away.

I had to give mine a couple of love taps from a BFH to break it loose back when i put on my body lift. Mayb just undo it by means of undoing the rag joints?

The results:

BFH 1, Steering Shaft 0

Now to figure out the seat belt bolts, which have claimed the lives of 3 Torx bits...

You need an impact T50 or 55, I cant remember. Chrome or cheap ones break off.

if the bolts are already stripped out you can just weld big nuts onto them and use a 6 point socket.

Bolts themselves are fine, just can't get them to budge with PB Blaster and Harbor Freight bits. Might have to step up to Craftsman for this one.

get the really good ones, harbor freight ones and the low end craftsman (like i have) just twist and deform
