while under acceleration, the truck seems to go straight. when coasting, the truck will begin to veer to the right. when i brake, the truck will pull to the left. it's very annoying.
the truck sat for years.

help guys. this is getting alittle expenisive, and i am failing misserably at the "guess the problem and replace" game.

replace tires, had alinment done. still pulled to the right pretty bad
first i thought it was a calipar sticking. replaced both. then i thought maybe the rotors were shot so i had the turned (not a good idea), and the pads needed replacing, and i replaced the wheel barings and bled the brakes.
the problem seemed to go away, but after turning the rotors, the right one warped and the wheel was sticking (pulsating) so i replace with brand new rotors (learned the hard way).

I am STILL having the same problems as stated above. i raised the truck yesterday and spun both wheels and both are not sticking.

i do have a poping noise that comes when hard turning. it is not a cv joint. i looked and found that one of the brackets for the sway bar was totally bent to shit. i thought it was broken, but i took a wedge and bent it back to normal posisiton. the sway bar seems to not be totally straight and the thing that connects to the swaybar (looks like a tie rod) is not positioned the same as the one at the opposite end.

I'm don't believe a swaybar problem would have to do anything with steering issues.

I will post pictures of this later tonight.

I'm a pretty young (atleast i still think so) and only know alittle bit...
i hate creating threads, but i've searched and found only this simular post :

have you checked the rear axle mounts?

would that be a question for the popping noise? no i haven't, but i forgot to add that since i worked on it yesterday (sway bar bracket) i haven't noticed any noise yet...

the main thing i'm concerned with is the steering/veering/braking issue and i didn't want to leave out any detail on what is an issue.

also - this is my first 4x4 vehicle. is it normal to have some play in the steering wheel? it seems when i turn the wheel slightly, then in turns. not very tight, but i figured thats because its a 4x4. am i correct?

its normal for the TYPE of steering gear you have. they are adjustable.

i was asking about the rear axle because if it rocks around it alters your thrust angle and will cause the truck to pull.

good. so you saying ajustable that the steering can be tighten up?

i will check the rear out. should i look for a break, bend, or something missing? thank you Brutus for putting up with me :)

no don't try to adjust the steering, some slop is normal. if you adjust it to take the slop out.. you won't be able to turn it... its just the way its built

and on the rear axle just look at the u-bolts that hold the axle to the leaf spring, and look at the leaf spring mounts
