Starting trouble, no spark?

Before you go about buying a new pump, hook your current one up to a 12 volt source and see if she starts pumping...

Sorry, when I first started I swore there was no spark and that I heard the fuel pump turn on. I was wrong on both accounts. Not sure how strong the spark is but there's no pressure in the fuel line. I've taken off several beds, it's pretty easy in comparison to taking off the tank from below.

What should I replace while in there and what brand?

make sure you test for power at the pump before tearing it apart!. I think in your truck the check valve is in the regulator but I am not positive. I think some peeps just replace the pump if the setup looks ok. I cant recommend a brand other than motorcraft, but those are so expensive most people don't buy them. I think AZ and advance sell Spectra and Airtex. Rockauto has those as well as some others including Carter......I think in general Carter makes good stuff but I have had no personal experience with them.remember to disconnect the battery before pulling the pump

check your leafspring hangers and shackles while the bed is off

Thanks for all the help. I haven't had anytime to even look at this until today and found the culprit

I know this was such an easy find but weekends are for the wife right now and its been crazy with the holidays. Again, thanks for all the responses. One day soon I'll probably need a fuel pump bc thats prob the original. nevertheless, today isn't that day.

I have a bunch of these relay's from a parts truck, are they all the same thing?

If it plugs in, it should work. But seeing how the pins are discolored and badly burned, I would look closely at the connector it plugs into. I wouldn't be surprised if that connection was the problem to begin with. You might be able to clean and squeeze the edges of the female terminals to get them to fit tighter but that much heat probably took it's toll. I'm sure you don't want the problem to return.

i did redline it passing the idiot who refused to go the speed limit, uphill in 2nd. could this have had any effect on the circuit?

I'll check it in the morning, finally have a day off. Thanks for the thought

It was the fuel pump relay as stated before. Not sure why it burned out other than that I had redlined just before I got home the day before (I have no idea whether those two are related). I squeezed the female terminal together a little bit (it didn't look burned) as suggested by n_grimm and hope the problem doesn't return.
