Any help ?
My 1997 Ranger speedometer quit after giving me no previous problems. I checked the fuses and all look good. I changed the sensor in the transmission and rear axle and still nothing. Anybody have a clue where to look?

Check the ground between the battery and MC. It might be loose. That's what mine was anyway.

Did they swap to a sensor sometime in '97? I'm pretty sure my old '97 had a Gear driven speedo. it was a 4.0L 4x4 with an M5OD but IIRC the speedo gear was in the transfer case.

95+ uses a sensor. It goes in the same place as the old cable driven speedometer and uses the same gears.

I agree with Destroyer000. Check the cluster.

I got in it the other day and like magic it was working. These trucks are self repairing, nobody told me about that. I have driven it 700 miles and still working.
How about that ?
