My credo
I don't count birthday's anymore...just happy to be looking down at the ground instead of looking up
OK, problem...
Pulled wires and plugs to install new. Plugs out and new in with no problem.
New Motorcraft plug wires....
How in the hell do you get the boots back on??? Ribs on boots refuse to push down in the cover hole.
Tried a bit of silicone spray on the ribs, but still no go.
I think the plug wire is not snapping over the plug end and I can't get any type of leverage to push the boot down.
I'm not a novice, but have never run into a minor problem like this.
Any help out there in Ranger Land?

I know mine are a bit akward and need some grease but not as bad as your describing. Are you sure theres no dirt or crud in the holes and that you got the right wires? Other than that I cant think of any reason your having so much trouble.

Nope...no crud. I pulled a new wire and compared it to old. It seems that the clip inside the boot was placed a bit more toward the boot end, so the wire was making contact with the plugs, just the boot won't go all the way in, but the
boot is sealing the hole.
Got it buttoned up and it started right up...
BUT...
Revs smooth right up to 3000 rpm than starts to stumble. Did a bit of forum searching and it was suggested that it might be the coil.
My scanner/code reader is showing no codes.

Pulled the coil and found a few hairline cracks, so I just ordered one from local Auto Zone. Pick up in an hour.
Will see...

Have read info that while in park or neutral it won't rev past around 3000 rpm. Going to go out and run it and see .
I was initally just reving it up in park in garage.
Ohhh, I'm a dumdum.

LIL RNGR is running perfect. It was that 3000 rpm limiter in park/neutral...I totally forgot about that little tidbit of info.
I am going to go stand in a corner and have my wife start kicking me in the arse!!!

Post videos, or it didn't happen.

Luckily she's visiting the kids and grand kids, about 160 miles away, and her foot don't reach that far...
But she's back tomorrow...I can wait.
But trust me, I'm still beating myself up over my forgetting about that limiter.
Heard about it and tried it when I first got the Ranger, but had a massive brain fart and forgot...happens alot at my age.
