I have a 1996 ranger 4x4. Will a 265/75 15 fit in the spare tire location & is there a different tire holder(metal bar assembly) out there.

I have the same size tires on my 97. If you want a 265/75R15 or 31" tire for a spare, you will need to make your own spare holder or just toss it in the bed.
