I was at the pull it yourself junkyard today looking for seats for my dads ranger, and little odds and ends for my BII. I just checked over all the explorers for nice seats, and found some perfect tan ones in an older explorer sport. They are manual adjust, but the driver had power bolster and lumbar buttons and the passenger had power lumbar. Both seats also have a little pad that slides out from the front of the seat...they are really nice seats. So I pulled them and headed home, and started swapping the rangers tracks onto the sploder seats, and noticed when I was taking the sploder tracks off, they are stamped with "BRONCO-2". I just thought that was interesting, it must have been a 91 explorer, and got leftover BII seat frames. I also picked up an explorer overhead console with temperature and compass, and I'm gonna try and retrofit it to the Bronco II.

Wow...I guess it is. The seats are already in the ranger, I can only get a pic of the brackets...let alone get a pic of the explorer they were in. It was definitley an explorer, had the 4.0. It was a 5 speed, it had the explorer door panels, and the 60/40 rear seat. It was primer black all the little trim stuff like headlight rings and door handles lime green. The seats were really rusted to the carpet, but maybe someone swapped them from a bronco? I didn't think those fancy thigh support, hip bolster, power lumbar seats came out till the mid 90's.

this thread is worthless

this thread is useful with pictures! :d

Looks pretty cool, its always nice to find seats in good shape. are you going to power up the seats?

Yeah I'm gonna run power to them. They're only little air pumps to inflate bags in the seat I believe, and they only have two wires, hot and ground, should be pretty easy to make them work.

sweet. i cant decide if i wanna get an overhead console or not. my b2 came with push button 4x4, but i swapped in a manual t-case. so i dont need the old buttons, but i dont really wanna get rid of it. we'll see i guess.

the stock overhead console, would make a nice switch panel. whenever i find a manual t/case, i'm gonna put my toggle switches in the overhead thing in my b2... and keep my map lights.

yeah, i want the map lights, my dome light hasnt worked in years, lol. i think i could wire an OHC in place of it
