Solid front axle on a 2wd

From what I read about the solid axle swap for a 4wd, it is a straight forward procedure. However my ranger is only 2wd drive. I was wondering if it would bolt up all the same. Could I use the coil buckets, holes on the frame that my truck has already or is it completely different? Of course I would have to change the drive train(This is a good reason why I can convince myself for a 5.0 conversion ) This seems almost too easy to have a 4x4. Just thought I might get some opinions on this because you know what they say about things that are too easy.

It's not a bolt in. Even if the truck was originally a 4x4, a solid axle would not be a bolt in.

On a Bronco II, you can bolt in a 4wd front axle with very little work, but on rangers it is near impossible. The front end is totally different.

SASing a 2WD is not much different than one that's already 4x4. The bigger issue would be getting the 4WD trans & T-case for it.

I think the trans crossmembers are different from 2wd to 4wd also? but im probably wrong.
