Hello folks,

I’ve got this old ‘94’s lift finished up (skyjacker 4” with radius arms.) I’ve got a little tire run that is occurring at full lock. Driver tire will rub on the radius arm when belting out a u-turn. Current solution is to simply stay away from full lock. However I am in the market for some wheels with a little less backspacing and some more negative offset.

I am currently running stock deer hooves 15x7s with 31 x 10.5 tires. I suppose I am interesting in hearing what some of you might be running on a similar set up.

I’ve been looking at a set of American racing AR62 outlaw IIs, that’s a 15x7 with 3.75 back spacing -6mm offset. This should set the wheel/tire about an inch away from the truck as stock.

I would definitely be interested in 33 x 10.5 tires! But I’m concerned even with a set of new wheels the radius arm rubbing would be the same or worse.

It is worth mentioning that I have removed the front sway bar and will not be using one in the future.

Anyhow, any wisdom or experience would be welcome!

I have the Skyjacker 6” lift on a 93. Running 35-12.50x15 tires on 15x10 wheels. Yup they rub the radius arm. It hasn't bothered me enough to take any action against it. You’re idea to fix it with different backspacing and/or offset is the right idea.
 
If you're running a 4.10 gear... and you want 33x10.50's... you should just get them. A bit less backspace on a set of wheels just might do it.

I know I've run 32x11.50's on a couple inches less lift then you have with 3.75 backspace.

The 33's will be a bit shorter on 8 inch wide wheels... but I think they look better on 7 inch wide wheels.
 
I agree, they would be better off-road on some 7s. I do have 4.10 gears, they certainly would have enough pep to get me by.
 
4.10's aren't optimal... but livable.

You planning on being rough and really working the suspension hard core?

Naw, not looking for real crazy flex or nasty rock crawling, mostly desert and forest trails for hunting and fishing.
 
Yeah... if that's the plan... I would do it.

I was eyeballing the 33x10.50 15 Dick Cepek Mud Country tires pretty hard. When the time is right I will probably buy a set for my Alcoas...
 
I reeeealy want a set of 33 x 10.5 BFG KM3s for this thing. I think I’m going to try these new wheels on my 31s and take some measurements. Then move forward with the bigger tires.

Maybe I should run the 15” x 7” wheels with 3.75” of back spacing and -6mm offset?!
 
What is the recommended wheel width with the tire you want?
 
What width are their advertised specs on... 7?
 
They only have 10.5” wide on 8.5” wheel listed as a spec.
 
I looked on Tire Rack... they say 7 to 9 inch.

It's your call... I like the way they look on a 7 inch... more pizza cutter. The 8 inch will give you a little better stance... and is closer to optimal width for the tire. If I didn't have a set of Alcoas… and had to buy a set of wheels... I would probably buy 8 inch wide wheels.

Decisions... decisions...
 
Yea, just pulled the trigger on the 33 x 10.5s with a 15 x 8” wheel. Pretty sure I will just have to endure/be mindful of the rubbing on the radius arm at full lock. Did some measuring, I don’t think I should have any issues with clearance on the wheel wells.

Time will tell.
