i have looked at those older crv a few times because they are a good size and get good gas mileage. i have helped my oldest son work on one too, for his wife's grandma. she loves hers. they are easy to work on and run forever with hardly any upkeep, which is normal for older hondas. i like the original crv more, though, the boxy smaller ones
the thing that keeps me out of hondas and toyotas, generally, is the boring interiors and some toyotas have uncomfortable seat set ups.
