I don't post much I lurk alot having owned SHO's for the last 15 years and Rangers for the same amount of time and doing this swap back in 94 all I say is this. It's not worth it 220 horse and 200 ft/lb with a 3.0 and 220 and 215 ft/lb with a 3.2 and considering a SHO uses the ac bracket as the front side engine mount and you have to custom fab motor mounts radiator hoses the water pump outlet will be pointing at the firewall of the Ranger. If you want to keep the timing covers on it you will need a spacer from shonut to flip the intake limited to 2 transmission choices the 3.0 ranger trans or the bell from a 2.8 liter like gold to find anymore or the aerostar bell. And what do you really get? The satisfaction of dropping 40 year old motorcycle technology in a truck. Hell a Busa swap would do more then a SHO swap. Just because your a big player in a tiny world you still have to think about the end product it's just like SHO wagons the SHO Conti the SHO Escort the twin engine SHO Paz. your doing alot of work for not much return. I've seen this whole Gen IV debacle the V8 in a 2000 up Taurus the 5 speed conversion for the 96-99 cars. Hell for the price of either I can go out and buy a 99-03 300M get more power with the autostick and have all the comfort of the SHO. oOOOPS already did that. there's a good swap the Chrysler 3.5 HO 250 horse V6 with a SHO type intake on it.
