shift kit questions for a4ld

i have a 88 bronco 2 with a4ld trans it lost overdrive and needs to be rebuilt. i would like to put a shift kit in it. i found one on the internet, it comes with a complete rebuild kit / shift kit. i plan on taking the truck off roading would this be a good idea to get a shift kit

I put a TransGo A4LD -Jr shift kit into my 91 A4LD. It made a big improvement in shift quality. Can't go wrong with it. The less slippage and firmer shifts will improve transmission life in the long run.

Shift kit...

MY 88 Ranger had a shift kit in it when I bought it, the trans was beating itself to death..., even if I took my foot off the gas just before trans would shift... BANG

Wanted to return it to stock by removing the kit but it was too late, cost me $2,500.00 to rebuild it at a friends shop including main shaft.
