Hi there.
I have a 2004 Ranger XLT, Regular Cab

I really enjoy the truck, i've installed a levelling kit/es3000 shocks... K&N with modified air box/etc. and i'm not dissapointed with the power or anything.

What does bother me is that the seat is too low.

No - i'm not vertically challenged. i'm 5'10.

Without a coushin on the seat, i can't get a comfortable view of the road over the dashboard. and the dashboard looks like it sits quite high on these cars.

I've seen other rangers, and when you sit on their drivers seat, you almost tower over the hood and see the road clearly.

What can i do about this? perhaps me seats are just bad?

I have a regular cab truck so all the popular explorer swaps/etc. are out of the question since it seems that all those only fit non-regular cab rangers.

Has anyone else been through this?

You can swap seats into a standard cab, you just need to watch out for headrest clearance.

As for the height issue, without swapping a seat the best I can think of is using some sort of spacer to raise the seat. A plate with some holes in between the seat and bracket would work.

Probably not very common for a standard cab, but power seats have vertical adjustment.

All they need is a fused constant power and ground wire.

I am 6'-3"... they go high enough to cram my head into the roof in an Explorer. :icon_thumby:

I also have '93 Explorer seats in my '85 standard cab (smaller cab than yours) In summer I get along great, in cold weather my coat gets a little close to the steering wheel... but it has more offset than the original one too.

it is easier to get longer bolts and install spacers between the seats and the seat tracks.

But would now be a good point to mention that leveling a truck means you drive a truck as a "Fashion statement" and don't care that it looks like a dog dragging it's itchy ass on the carpet when you finally do actually put something in the bed?

My truck also sits dead level... when it has 1500lbs of coal in the bad AND full
fuel tanks (And I meant it when I said tanks using the plural)
