Scrapping Vehicle

Wildbill, what makes you think the oil pressure is low? The gauge on the dash is not necessarily a good indicator. I would put an actual gauge on it if I were you, just to be sure. There is also a mod that you can do to the dash gauge to make it respond more linearly to oil pressure changes. I don't know if it is applicable to your model year. I will check tomorrow and post what I find.

In my previous post I said I put a gauge in it. It is reading 5psi at idle and around 20psi cruising/accelerating.

The only gauge that works in the gauge cluster is the fuel gauge all the others are sitting at zero or low meaning none of them work at all. I didn't feel like trying to find out what the previous idiot owner did to them so I installed this:

My bad. I overlooked the part of that post where you said your dash gauges were dysfunctional. Regardless, that oil pressure sounds pretty low. Might you have air in the line going to the gauge? Does it show a higher pressure when cold?

Initially I had air in the oil pressure gauge line, but I disconnected it from the gauge and got the air worked out of it, and now when its cold it will show around 40-60psi, once it warms up it will read anything from 0-10psi. Figured if there was really a problem given the length of times I've driven it and at the speeds I've driven it, the engine would have seized or been severely knocking by now, but all I have is the normal valve train noise.

20 dishwashers!? Where did you put them all? :icon_rofl:

yeah no kidding, my super cab Ranger will only hold a maximum of 6 people, and that is if you cram one in between the jumpseats in back. I can't imagine how to get 20 in a single cab. and what does your wife think about this :p
