Any ideas on how to remove a rounded over external torx bolt from a 4.00 SOHC head?

Extractor socket might do it

Take a bolt that did come out to parts store to get correct size, or get a set
Probably want a size smaller, and hammer it down

OR

Weld a nut on it

Honestly doesn’t look that bad. I bet if you had the right size E socket it would come out fine.

Worst case, take one size smaller and pound it one like Ron said.

I was thinking that looks like a great chance to weld a nut on.

Welcome to the club.

Most of my tools are for dealing with problems regular tools can't fix.

Did the timing chain wear that bolt head and the cylinder head down like that?

That engine must have rattled like crazy.

Maybe my eyes are getting bad, but I don't see the problem.

Bad photo + bad eyes. Took me while to really see it.

Does this help you old people...
