Looking way down the road when I have another vehicle (Ranger) to drive when I can redo my baby. I want to do it right, make it a one off and make it noticeable. Mind you I will probably be buried in it so there's no hurry starting.

What I'm thinking is reviving an old name from Ford's past. Not SVT or GT or anything like that. If the name feels right it may help in deciding how she's gonna look and perform.

She's a 2wd so I'm looking at something nasty. Should I go for power & handling or straight line brutality?

I love 2 nasty cars from the past. #1 is the 64 Thunderbolt and the 70 to 71 Cyclone Spoiler. The Thunderbolt was no hold bar smack you in the face HP. The Spoiler was mean yet sleek for the era, had more amenities than the Torino and could hold it's own with the Muscle of the day.

So my fellow crazy RBVers what do ya think? Any suggestions? :icon_welder:

thunderbolt ftw.
and a good balance between handling and brutal force is the best. not al the time u can race against other cars is ona straight line. beatin em on twisty roads with a truck would be badass

how about sport custom? it was 1st used on the 5th generation F series

or the futura name. vinyl roof? lol

How about Super Cobra Jet? I know it's just an engine name but it sounds pretty sweet.

Less seriously:
Tempo
Topaz
Probe
Pinto
Capri
Want me to continue? :D

Lets not forget Fords crown jewel....the Granada!

The model T-erminator.

Yeah, wooden spoke wheels and a supercharged 4.6 with hand crank start.

Boy is that one out of the past! Doubt many know of it's history.

On January 12, 1904, Henry Ford personally drove the rechristened 999 to a speed of 91.37 mph (147.05 km/h) on Lake St. Clair, a land speed record. It stood for only a month, but this was ample time to bring more good publicity for Ford's new company.

It is funny about the car naming. A Ranger truck was like the F series some time back and then the compact Ranger came out...go figure.

One of my buddies had a 428 in his Cyclone Spoiler. Man!! What a rush that was...but that was a heavy car!!!!! It would not handle very well...but it went like stink on a natts ass!!!!!

You got that upside down, Bro!!! It's 666, Mark of the Beast...now that is a neat name for a car. This is what my buddies used to call my 4 cyclinder 2 stroke Yamaha RZV 500R alumnum framed light weight crotch rocket and knee scraper monster from hell. It was so fast and light that it acutualy got airborn a few times at 170mph!!!!

I can't think of a good name but a million not to name it. Not sure I'd use an existing name but a creative one maybe modifing an existing name plate. Another history trivia - the Fairlane was named after Henry Fords estate.
