Rescued Ranger

Change all the fluids, buy new tires and it probably needs a battery.

Replace brake hoses. New wiper blades. Empty the ash tray.

Take the brakes apart and make sure everything moves freely and doesn't bind. Check the parking brake cables for sticking, too. Inspect the steering components and u joints for binding, on a 4x4 that includes the front axle joints. Then recheck after driving it a while, if moisture and rust built up in ball joints, tie rod ends or u joints they could feel tight at first and wear out quickly. Drive belts and hoses also don't age well.

With the rubber if there is a question on it’s serviceability, replace it. Being stuck on the side of the road with burst hose or a busted belt is not fun.
