I have an 89 Ranger and one of the PO's must have broken th PS shaft at some point. I have a replacement shaft and have changes the U-joint's, all except the one on the stub shaft. My question is. Can I put the new shaft in without tearing the hub and spindle down?

sure....

drop the beams

So I can just slip the axle back in through the spindle and just press the last u-joint in by dropping the I-beam down as far as she will go?

I guess all I really need to know is does the axle need a snap ring on the end or not. On the hub end.
