removing the little tabs from the oil pan gasket

so i have the engine lifted the oil pan off and all of the gasket except the two little tabs that insert up into the block off, the gasket has turned into a verry hard plastic and was cooked onto the block how do you get thoes little tabs out? is there a special chemical that i can use or a special tool? any tricks that any of you guys have used?????
