I have a 2.3l ranger turboed running a Volvo head and since I only need 4 plugs I removed the secondary coil and cut the wires. I was wondering if anyone new how I could wire in a resistor or ground something so the computer thinks the coil is there so that I stop getting trouble codes.

There are 3 wires that go to the coil pack
They were laid out this way on the connector
ground
12v
ground

You just need to ground the two ground wires, and terminate the 12v so it can't accidentally ground out.

If you can't remember which is which, turn key on and find the 12v wire, teminate it and ground the other two

Perfect thankyou. If I remember right there are two tan wires with colored stripes that would be ground and then a red wire with I believe a white stripe that is power.

That's what I did on mine and it works fine, only problem is the stock tach doesn't work with that setup... other option would be to leave the coil connected and connect the 4 spark plug wires together and ground them...

Your tach doesn't work? Is that only because you grounded them? Right now my tach works with the wires cut not grounded or anything.

I think that's from the DIS, you have EDIS, I'm running the DIS on the '85 turbo computer and I don't think it's completely compatible with everything I've done even though it works fine :). I think it just needs a resistor as I've seen in a couple places...
